WHO WE ARE

Ensuring Every Oregon Child has a Chance to Thrive

We envision an Oregon where each child is seen, nurtured, and valued for the unique contributions they bring to our state. In our roles as advocates, conveners, and educators, we bring communities together to share best practices, learn from experience, and inform through data. Our energies are focused on uplifting Oregon families, so children across the state can reach their full potential.

WE ARE:

Advocates

We Are: Advocates

As advocates, we strive to create meaningful and lasting change by advocating for policies within political, economic, and social systems that help us build a state dedicated to ensuring the safety of our children. In addition to direct advocacy, we equip communities with the tools they need to advocate for their own change, supporting their efforts with our media and legislative influence.
TAKE ACTION

WE ARE:

Conveners

We Are: Conveners

Our Children Oregon envisions large-scale social change. For us to achieve this level of impact, our community needs to collectively work together, with no single organization or program working alone. We work diligently as conveners to bring together partners and organizations throughout the state.

WE ARE:

Educators

We Are: Educators

As the steward of whole-child well-being in Oregon, Our Children Oregon serves as an educator, bringing increased awareness to existing disparities through disaggregated data. Our research allows us to uplift promising and best practices to inform more effective conversations and solutions, aligning statewide efforts with the current needs of Oregon children and their families.

How We Help

Our Whole-Child
Philosophy

As a whole-child advocacy and child abuse prevention organization, we take a holistic approach to helping children and their families thrive. With focused data and research, we shine a spotlight on the gaping inequities facing children in our state, and through intentional partnerships and community involvement, we work to improve the well-being of all Oregon children.

Monitoring Child Well-Being:

To measure our progress in this work, we look to indicators of child well-being at the state and county level across four categories:
